Capturing Accurate Interiors for Facility Management
FORCE scanned terminal interiors to create current‑condition as‑builts supporting modeling, asset documentation, and maintenance planning.
Our Approach
- Established survey control and QA; performed scans during off‑peak hours to limit passenger impacts.
- Used a terrestrial laser scanner (Trimble X7) with target‑based and cloud‑to‑cloud registration.
- Registered and cleaned point clouds to a unified coordinate system; organized stations and scan areas for downstream modeling.
- Prepared model inputs for architectural and MEP features (rooms, structure, ceilings, major equipment).
Deliverables
- Registered point clouds (RCP/RCS and E57) with coordinate metadata
- Registration/coverage reports and annotated scan viewpoints
- Model‑ready packages for Revit/Navisworks and CAFM/CMMS ingestion
Outcome
Accurate interior as‑builts improved work‑order planning, space/asset tracking, and reduced rework during future renovations.
