Restoring Downtown Sanitary Sewer Service

Aging downtown sanitary sewer segments required targeted rehabilitation with minimal disruption. FORCE delivered an integrated program combining utility locating, robotic inspection, mapping, and construction.

Our Approach

• Utility locating with EM locators (GPR as needed); marked conflicts and collected survey control.
• CCTV inspection using sewer robots; defect identification and condition assessment.
• GIS mapping and as-builts: GPS/RTK locations, segment IDs, manholes, laterals, and repair extents.
• Trenchless construction: CIPP lining, robotic spot repairs, point repairs; selective open-cut where trenchless was not feasible.
• Traffic control, bypass pumping where needed, and QA/QC on all installed liners and repairs.

• CCTV videos, defect logs, and segment condition summaries
• GIS-ready as-built datasets and plan sheets
• Repair logs with location, method, and materials
• Final report with recommended next-phase work

Outcome

Restored capacity, reduced I&I, and extended asset life while minimizing surface disruption and utility conflicts.
